Job Profile Summary

  • The EHS Coordinator helps accomplish the accumulation of waste and preparation of such for disposition.

Job Responsibilities

  • Properly load, segregate, label, and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transportation to approved disposal facilities

  • Coordinate disposal activities, including routine sandblast media disposal (approximately 700 lbs monthly for Buildings 1 and 3).

  • Conduct daily inspections of Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAAs) in Buildings 1, 2, and 3 to ensure compliance with RCRA and company standards.

  • Organize and prepare waste for scheduled monthly hazardous waste shipments, including proper segregation of waste streams into appropriate containers within the 90-Day Accumulation Area.

  •  Perform daily follow-ups with EHS specialists and building representatives regarding hazardous waste needs.

  • Inspect chemical storage cabinets for expired chemicals; coordinate proper disposal and communicate replacement needs with area teams

  • Maintain hazardous waste accumulation areas in a clean, compliant, and inspection-ready condition.

  •  Prepare lab packs for expired chemicals, including coordination and shipment of 15–30-gallon drums through approved waste vendors.

  • Manage universal waste streams, including routine inspections, accumulation date tracking, labeling updates, and coordination of disposal (e.g., batteries, lamps).

  • Perform coolant drum inspections and coordinate disposal of 55-gallon drums as needed.

  • Support hazardous waste Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives.Inspection & Compliance ResponsibilitiesDaily    •    Support EHS and Operations meetings to provide hazardous waste and compliance updates.Weekly    •    Conduct eyewash station inspections.    •    Conduct emergency shower inspections.    •    Perform 90-Day Accumulation Area inspections.    •    Conduct Satellite Accumulation Area inspections.    •    Inspect AED units (visual checks).    •    Inspect spill kits in Buildings 1, 2, and 3 and restock missing items.    •    Perform universal waste inspections.    •    Conduct coolant drum inspections.Monthly    •    Perform AED battery inspections.    •    Conduct fire extinguisher inspections.    •    Perform eyewash and shower compliance inspections.    •    Conduct stormwater area inspections.    •    Perform SPCC inspections.    •    Conduct monthly acetone sampling.    •    Coordinate hazardous waste vendor pickups and ensure timely vendor payment processing.Annual    •    Conduct stormwater sampling.    •    Maintain required HAZWOPER training certification. 

    Equipment Operation & Physical Requirements    •    Operate forklifts and drum handling equipment (two-wheel, four-wheel, hand carts).    •    Stand (up to 100 of the time), bend (up to 90), walk (up to 75), push/pull (up to 75), lift (up to 50), and climb stairs (up to 25).    •    Lift and carry materials weighing up to 55 pounds.    •    Work in indoor and outdoor environments in all weather conditions.Regulatory & Program Support    •    Maintain understanding and competency in applicable environmental and safety regulations, including but not limited to RCRA, DOT, OSHA, SPCC, and related state/local requirements.    •    Support and assist in the management, implementation, and ongoing compliance of site-specific OSHA and regulatory-required programs, including but not limited to;    •    Hazard Communication    •    Emergency Response    •    Stormwater Pollution Prevention    •    Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC)    •    Universal Waste Management    •    Hazardous Waste Management Programs    •    Provide overflow support to the EHS department during audits, inspections, regulatory visits, and compliance initiatives.    •    Assist with environmental and safety compliance inspections and corrective action follow-up.

Required

  • Ability to read, understand, and follow written and/or verbal procedures, processes, and instructions.

  • Knowledge of basic chemistry.

  • Demonstrated computer literacy, including a working knowledge of SAP.

  • Knowledge of basic algebra and statistics.

  • Ability to work independent of direct supervision.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with management and coworkers.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with management and coworkers.

  • Ability to complete the job without direct threat or significant risk to the health and safety of self or others.

  • Ability to wear a respirator substantiated via quantitative fit testing.

  • Demonstrated effort toward self-improvement by gaining new knowledge/skills and accepting new assignments.

  • Ability to complete the job following all policies or procedures regarding safety, waste handling, and environmental regulations without direct threat or significant risk to the health, safety or environment.

Pay, Benefits, Work Schedule

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range:  $26.6/hr to $44.3/hr
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
