With our wide range of technologies, we help our customers solve their most complex engineering challenges by living our purpose: Enabling Engineering Breakthroughs that lead to a Better Tomorrow. We believe that our team members are our key assets and that a diverse workforce is a driving force to bring our purpose to life. We foster a culture where every team member feels safe, included, and empowered. We all belong, we all matter, and we all make a difference.

Position Summary

Manufacturing Engineering (ME) drives measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost through Lean Six Sigma (LSS) methods and robust industrial engineering practices. This role leads complex, cross-functional initiatives to optimize manufacturing processes, labor, material flow, capacity, and factory performance while sustaining gains through standardization and control plans.

Responsibilities

  • Lead high-impact DMAIC projects aligned to business KPIs (OEE, FPY, scrap, cycle time, OTIF, COPQ, labor productivity).

  • Define project charters, problem statements, scope, benefits and timelines.

  • Apply statistical and analytical tools to identify root causes and validate solutions (hypothesis testing, regression, DOE, capability).

  • Implement sustainable controls: control plans, visual management, layered process audits, SPC strategies, reaction plans.

  • Mentor Jr. Engineers and support site-wide continuous improvement maturity.

  • Develop and improve standard work, work instructions, and operator methods to reduce variation and improve repeatability.

  • Perform time studies, labor standards development, line balancing, and takt/capacity modeling.

  • Drive waste elimination (transport, motion, waiting, overproduction, defects, inventory, over-processing, unused talent).

  • Establish and maintain documentation process and change control to ensure long-term adherence.

  • Design and optimize plant layouts, cells, and production lines for throughput, ergonomics, and material flow.

  • Understands value stream mapping (current/future state).

  • Analyze equipment and line performance; identify constraints using TOC and bottleneck analysis.

  • Improve OEE through reduction of downtime, speed loss, minor stops, and changeover time (SMED).

  • Support capital justification and equipment selection using ROI/NPV, payback, and risk assessment.

  • Partner with Quality and Operations to reduce defects and variation; conducts PFMEA/control plan updates.

  • Support investigation and corrective action (8D, RCCA) with data-driven methods.

  • Build and maintain performance tracking for key manufacturing metrics (daily management systems).

  • Use MES/ERP data to identify loss drivers and prioritize improvements.

  • Develop repeatable reporting and analytics to monitor improvements and detect drift.

  • Incorporate safety-by-design in layouts, methods, and process changes.

  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and implement risk-reduction solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with site procedures and applicable regulatory/industry standards.

  • Facilitate Kaizen events; Align Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.

  • Train operators and support teams with new standards and ensure effective adoption.

  • Communicate progress and results to leadership; support manage project risks and escalations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or equivalent).

  • Experience of 2 - 4 years.

  • Advanced English proficiency

  • Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt.

  • Lean certifications (Kaizen leader, Lean practitioner).

  • Exposure to manufacturing processes, production support, or quality systems preferred.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and basic GD&T concepts preferred.

Preferred knowledge

  • VSM, takt time, pitch, WIP controls, pull systems, superspanet sizing

  • OEE loss tree, constraint management

  • SMED, line balancing, yamazumi charts

  • 5S/visual controls, layered audits

  • MSA (variable + attribute), SPC, capability analysis

  • Hypothesis testing, regression, ANOVA, non-normal analysis

  • DOE (screening + optimization), response surface when needed

  • Labor standards (MOST/MTM), staffing models

  • Discrete-event simulation (if used), throughput/capacity models

  • Ergonomics (NIOSH/REBA/RULA), safety-by-design considerations

  • Advanced Excel, Minitab/JMP (or equivalent)
