Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate and ideally program various CNC machines, including the Mazak Quick Turn 350 Lathe, Haas VF-7 5 Axis Vertical Mill, and Haas VR-8 5 Axis Vertical Mill. The role involves utilizing Mastercam and Solidworks software to program machines for various tasks such as Bushing Fabrication, Alignment/Tooling Pins, Parts Fabricated from rod/bar stock, High Speed Operations, 5 Axis Simultaneous Part Machining, and 3 Axis Machining. You will be responsible for Production Parts Fabrication, Assembly Builds, Repair & Overhaul, and ensuring parts are manufactured within precise tolerances.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a variety of machine tools such as CNC and manual lathes, CNC and manual mills, and precision grinders to make parts from a variety of metals.
  • Understand mechanisms, tools, and machines to manufacture parts to exacting tolerances and dimensions.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, sketches, engineering specifications, and verbal instructions to determine the sequence of operations and method of setup for machining.
  • Utilize machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as Swiss micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, and standard micrometers.
  • Communicate effectively with team members about dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds, and lay out stock for machining.
  • Fit and assemble precision parts into mechanical equipment.
  • Differentiate material, parts, and equipment required for jobs.
  • Personally monitor and verify the dimensions and finish of parts during the machining process.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Essential Skills
  • 4+ years of experience working on Mazak and similar lathes and mills.
  • Programming experience in Mastercam and Solidworks is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in 3, 4, and 5 axis machining.
  • Experience running manual machines and performing set-ups.
  • Familiarity with MAZATROL and Fanuc (HAAS) Controller.
  • Ability to read and interpret production specifications, diagrams, assembly drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Experience in performing unique set-ups.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Aerospace experience is preferred.
  • CAD/CAM experience with Mastercam.
  • CAM experience with SolidWorks/NX Siemens.
  • Expertise with Fanuc Mill (HAAS) controls, with 5 axis simultaneous machining.

Work Environment

The position is based in a 105K square feet manufacturing facility. Employees will support over 10 DOD and international military programs. The work schedule is Monday through Thursday, with either 1st or 2nd shift available. Expect 10-20 hours of overtime per week. The 1st shift runs from 6 a.m. to 4:45 p.m., and the 2nd shift from 4:45 p.m. to 2 a.m. Please note that the facility is non-climate controlled.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53.13 - $53.13/hr.
