DescriptionJob overview and responsibilities
To plan, develop, and implement all government (U.S. and foreign) mandated cargo security requirements to ensure compliance while minimizing penalties.
Compliance Measurement
Strategic Security Management
- Plan, develop, and implement security measures supporting daily cargo security compliance operations
- Analyze and interpret U.S. and international cargo regulations affecting all operational aspects
- Develop policies, procedures, training programs, and communications to ensure compliance with cargo security mandates across all operations
- Collaborate with Corporate Security, Airport Operations, Cargo Operations, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs to assess regulatory impact and formulate responses
- Support development and maintenance of automation solutions for cargo security compliance mandates, including data-sharing programs and systems, encompassing business case development, cost projections, funding approval, testing, training, implementation, and monitoring
- Provide expert guidance on cargo security mandates to domestic and international locations, company leadership, cargo operations, and network operation centers.
- Continuously monitor regulatory and industry developments to proactively identify and address cargo security vulnerabilities
Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop policies and procedures ensuring cargo security compliance with aviation security regulations
- Prepare ad hoc reports and presentations for executive leadership, Board of Directors meetings, industry trade associations, and government regulators
- Represent the organization at meetings with government security policymakers (TSA, foreign governments) and industry trade associations (A4A, IATA, ICAO)
- Provide strategic guidance to teams and projects impacting TSA and host government cargo security regulations
- Foster cross-functional collaboration between Corporate Security and internal and external partners
- Identify and create opportunities for professional development and individual growth
QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cargo security compliance -related role
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. and international aviation and cargo security regulations, airline practices, and operational procedures
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend, interpret, and effectively communicate government regulations
- Proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments
- Proficiency in interpreting cargo security regulatory documents, including relevant security programs and compliance frameworks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
- Successful completion of required interview processes
- Consistent, reliable attendance as an essential function of the position

- Bachelor’s degree
- 5+ years of cargo security compliance experience
- Previous airline or airport operational experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. government Secret Clearance
The base pay range for this role is $81,795.00 to $106,602.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
