Senior Manager Network Development
Based in Budapest
Purpose of the position:
The Senior Network Manager is responsible for developing route network recommendations and analysis related to new routes, new bases, strategic planning, and the competitive environment. The role includes leading the sub-team of Network Development Managers and Network Planning Managers and contributing to strategic initiatives to enhance Wizz Airs network.

Responsibilities:
- Assessing new spanets based on strategic fit, financial performance, and growth potential
- Recommending new routes and bases to add to the network
- Developing financial forecasts for potential new routes and bases
- Building and maintaining financial evaluation tools as required
- Leading the team of Network Development Managers and Network Planning Managers
- Working with the Revenue team and Airport Development team to determine amendments to existing routes, frequencies, and airports
- Working closely with Scheduling and Slots team, to ensure highest efficiency and productivity of Wizz Air’s network
- Assessing competition in terms of strategic plans, capacity changes, strengths/weaknesses, and recommending actions based on risks and opportunities
- Assessing and interpreting spanet, economic, and industry trends and their impact on route choice
- Managing the airport mix to ensure it does not exceed budgeted costs
- Building relationships with airports and third parties (e.g., regions, tourism bodies, Civil Aviation Authorities). Ad-hoc on-site visits may be required.
Requirements:
- 5-7+ years of overall working experience, 4+ years of experience in related field
- People management experience
- Good leadership and people management skills
- Business mindset with the ability to synthesize information into actionable recommendations
- Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good oral and written presentation skills
- Strong understanding of the airline industry or relevant analytical roles
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, or another numerical subject.
- Fluent English (both spoken and written)
