Position Summary
JOB PURPOSE
The PQA Assistant Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Engineering team to ensure all manufacturing stages meet technical and quality standards. This role focuses on driving a Zero Defect culture through auditing, data-driven improvements, and the effective handling of customer quality requirements.
MAIN DUTIES
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Direct Supervision: Manage, mentor, and develop the PQA Engineers.
- Resource Management: Allocate engineering staff to production lines and oversee their daily performance to meet organizational goals.
- Quality Workshops: Design and deploy internal workshops to enhance team competency in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and defect prevention.
2. Process Control & Zero Defect Engineering
- Standardization: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of Process Control Plans, PFMEAs, and APQP/PPAP documentation. Participate in contract reviews, MRB (Material Review Board)
- Process Stability: Use SPC (Statistical Process Control) to monitor manufacturing stages, ensuring all processes are capable and meet technical standards.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead data-driven/ Zero Defect saving projects to reduce process variation and improve manufacturing yields.
3. Customer Quality & Audit Management
- Complaint Handling: Serve as the lead for customer complaint investigations, ensuring robust containment and permanent corrective actions via the 8D methodology.
- Customer Audits: Act as the primary technical point of contact for customer audits, ensuring the factory is prepared and compliant with specific customer quality requirements.
- External Liaison: Communicate technical root causes and improvement plans directly to customers to maintain high satisfaction levels.
4. Reporting & Strategic Auditing
- Periodic Reporting: Prepare and present Weekly and Monthly Quality Reports for the Quality Manager (QM), tracking KPIs such as scrap rates, DPPM, ZERO defect saving …
- Auditing: Implement an effective auditing schedule across manufacturing stages to ensure adherence to the Zero Defect standard.
5. Other tasks assigned by superiors.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Customer complaint rate: Continuous reduction in customer DPPM
Audit Success: Positive trends in process audit findings and scorecard results.
Problem Solving Timeliness: Successful and on-time approval of 8D reports

JOBHOLDER REQUIREMENTS
Must-have
Nice-to-have
Experience with ISO 9001 or IATF16949 or AS9100 standards.
Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and problem solving - 8D method/ A3.
Experience with ERP or SAP system.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and standards.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with customers and internal stakeholders.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
