How youll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities) The Lead Technician – Facilities is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all technical maintenance activities within assigned facilities. This role leads, directs, assigns, and monitors the work of other technicians and third-party contractors to ensure operational continuity and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards. The Lead Technician serves as the building lead, ensuring timely task completion, proper communication across shifts, and accurate documentation in the maintenance management system. This role requires expertise in maintaining, altering, repairing, and operating a wide range of facilities systems and equipment.Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):Assign, lead, and direct the daily activities of technicians and third-party project contractorsEscort and supervise external contractors while on-site; approve completed workEnsure all assigned tasks are completed and results are reported to management promptlyCommunicate incomplete tasks to the next shift and update the maintenance management system dailyMaintain, alter, repair, assemble, and install all equipment and systems related to facilities infrastructureEnsure continuous reliability and performance of facility operations through preventative and corrective maintenanceAdhere to all local, state, and federal regulations and organizational policies including safety and environmental complianceOperate and maintain systems including:HVAC and Chilled/Hot Water SystemsRefrigeration units and pumpsFire protection and basis plumbing systems Electrical systems (50V to 13,800V)Emergency/back-up generators and transfer switchesPerform basic structural repairs to maintain the facility’s physical appearanceMonitor and operate Building Management Systems (BMS) and maintain associated logsEnsure compliance with all required regulatory and safety training Work in confined spaces and at heights exceeding 75 feetLift up to 75 pounds safely as part of daily responsibilities

What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications) Valid Driver’s licenseExperience as a facilities technician with lead responsibilitiesWorking knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systemsAbility to perform maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection systemsAbility to lift up to 75 pounds and work in physically demanding environmentsMust hold or obtain any licenses required by local or state authorities for building lead responsibility
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications) Associate’s degree or technical certification in facilities maintenance or related field5+ years of experience in facilities operations or plant maintenance, with 2+ years in a lead or supervisory capacityPrior experience maintaining commercial/industrial infrastructure for an airline or large-scale facilityFamiliarity with Delta Airlines systems OSHA 10/30- hour safety training or equivalent certificationsUniversal EPA Certification (Refrigeration)
