Amentum, a global leader in advanced engineering, technical, and professional services serving the US government, allies and critical infrastructure sectors, is seeking an Airfield Manager to support a government contract based on the island of Diego Garcia.
PURPOSE / SCOPE
The Airfield Manager is responsible for safe and functional airfield operations 24/7, including coordination with ATC, aircraft operations, and safety programs to ensure compliance with Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Amentum ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Airport Operations Center
- Air Cargo Operations (Commercial and Military)
- Aircraft Marshalling and Parking
- Weather Services
- Runway Sweeping
- Construction / Maintenance
- All other Airfield Operations Actions and Activities
The Airfield Manager will be available within 30 minutes to meet with Government personnel and / or Program leadership as required 24 hours/day, 7 days/week in this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in an associated discipline preferred; two (2) years of experience in related field may be substituted for each year of the four (4) years of college
- Five years experience in air terminal operations including airfield facilities, operations, airfield markings, Flight Information Publications (FLIP), Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Bird Aircraft Strike Hazards (BASH), Transient Alert, minimum wingtip requirements
- Five years’ experience in passenger and cargo movement functions to include transport aircraft types, capabilities, configuration; weight and balance factors; airlift transportation directives and documentation; cargo securing techniques; border clearance requirements; operation of materials handling and other types of loading equipment or devices, fleet service functions; automated data processing equipment and its application in airlift activities; passenger service functions, and customer relations principles; airdrop and aerial delivery techniques and equipment
- Three years’ experience in supervising and managing all aspects of Airfield Operations and staff in an austere OCONUS environment with a multi-national workforce
- Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office products
- Experience with Air Terminal operations applications, specifically GATES
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and drivers license throughout employment in this role
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location in this role
- Ability to successfully pass CENTCOM medical requirements and maintain requirements for duration of deployment
- Ability to obtain and maintain Country visa (as required in line with the U.S. Department of State Foreign Clearance Guide)
