Rockwell Collins Inc. d/b/a Collins Aerospace has an opening for a Senior Engineer, Software Engineering in Charlotte, NC. This is a hybrid position; must work in the Charlotte, North Carolina office 3 days per week.

What YOU will do
- Design and implement build procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and use.
- Design, develop, document, test and design control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Code, test and provide support for avionics tools that are part of the portfolio of the Avionics Software Tools Team.
- Collaborate using software configuration management tools and follow team development processes.
- Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
- Determine end-user needs by analyzing system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements and input data acquisition.
- Identify problems, evaluate options, and develop solutions.
- Work with new technologies and tools and apply them to work at hand.
Qualifications You Must Have
- Must possess at least a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and five years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry. In the alternative, must possess at least a master’s degree or its equivalent in Software Engineering, Computer Science or a related field and three years of experience as a Software Engineer or related role in the avionics industry would be acceptable.
- Must possess at least 3 years of software experience with software and/or tools meeting RTCA DO-178B and/or RTCA DO-178C objectives.
- Must possess at least 3 years of experience in software development using programming languages Java, C/C++, and Python.
- At least 2 years of software engineering experience with tools meeting RTCA DO-330 TQL-5 and/or TQL-4 objectives.
- At least 1 year of experience leading small to medium sized engineering teams performing DO-330 TQL-5 and/or TQL-4 objectives.
- Demonstrable experience as main reviewer for formal reviews of software developed to DO-330 standards.

The salary range is $155,688.00 to $163,000.00 USD per year. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
