Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a qualified candidate to join the engineering leadership team as a Manager Engineering 2 located in Salt Lake City, UT. To be successful, the manager must demonstrate a highly engaging leadership style, have excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The manager must be able to provide leadership in support of the strategic vision of Operations and the business areas being supported, must demonstrate ability in working with cross organizational teams and customers, must be able to set and clearly articulate goals/priorities and successfully communicate them to key staff, and possess a track record of building high-performance teams, with a particular focus on employee development, engagement, inclusion, and retention.
What youll get to do:
- Provide overall leadership and development to a team of approximately 12 Manufacturing Engineers with a diverse range of experience levels. This includes performance evaluations, goal setting, and strategic planning. This team supports the manufacturing of advanced electronics and avionics products.
- Act as a technical focal point for key internal customers.
- Development of new manufacturing processes and procedures for electronic manufacturing.
- Continue to optimize existing processes for efficiency, repeatability, and overall process control.
- Perform as both a manager and direct technical contributor to key tasks.
- Champion continuous improvement throughout the engineering team.
- Identify capital needs and provide justifications.
- Develop and maintain a technology roadmap to drive to “World Class Manufacturing”.
- Manage organization budgets for labor and expense.
- Transition of new products into production.
- Support proposal activities as required.
The ideal candidate must have a presentation skillset and the ability to communicate written and verbally.
Basic qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering or STEM discipline with 8 years of engineering experience; or Master’s degree with 6 years of engineering experience.
- Experience with collaborating with teams and/or project leadership.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading technical projects, including project scope management, budget, schedule, and overall execution.
- Experience with standard Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook)
- U.S Citizenship Required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Clearance.
Preferred qualifications:
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Direct people leadership experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Experience directly related to electronic circuit card manufacturing and processes
- IPC J-STD-001 experience.
- Lean/Six Sigma certification.
- Prior experience mentoring and encouraging employee engagement.
Salary Range: $122,800.00 - $184,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
